Zaterdag 1 Januari 2011 After parting most of the night with Marloes, Emma, Brit, and Dianne and a couple hours with my host family (from Bovenkarspel-Grootebroek). We went to bed. Later that day we woke up and had breakfast or more like brunch, then we got ready to go our separate way. Once home I got ready for my host oma and opa’s anniversary at the bowling alley. At the bowling alley we talked had dinner and well of course played a couple games.
Zonderdag 2 Januari 2011 Today my host family brought me to the oval in Hoorn. This day is where I figured that I have no tolerance for speed skating or just skating around and around. It is also where I figured it would be funner to go the other way while everyone was still going against me.
Maandag 3- Vrijdag 7 Januari 2011 This week I started school again after the break.
Zaterdag 8 Januari 2011 Today I had a field hockey game against Amsterdam and we won 5-1. which was amazing to do.
Zonderdag 9 Januari 2011 This day my host family (from Bovenkarspel-Grootebroek) brought me to the Grand Bissar which use to be the Dutch Black Market. The day was pretty cool I got to see a lot of , well everything that one could ever need to buy and it would probably be there in 3 different place in the whole place.
Maandag 10 –Zaterdag 22 Januari 2011 In these two weeks I saw the sun finally raise while not on a bike. I also learned the saying “Red sky at night, sailor’s delight. Red sky in morning, sailor’s warning” is so true, one minute it was so pretty then the next it was raining and these big intense black clouds came in and ruined the whole thing. Later in the week I helped out with my friends Photography project, had dinner with my counsellor’s family and went to Alkmaar with my friend Emma.
Zonderdag 23 januari 2011 Today I went to Amsterdam with my host father (Rubin). We visited the Royal palace, which was the former town hall, built in 1648. After we walked around and visited the Museum Square and went to the park and lastly we stopped by the Red light district to see it, since you cant go to Amsterdam without visiting the Red light district. All in all tiring day but a good one.
Maandag 24 januari 2011 Nothing really special about today it was just a normal boring Monday.
Dinsdag 25 januari 2011 Today was an interesting day it started out on a good foot. I got to sleep in and the weather was nice also. It wasn’t until I got my bike from the train station that I literally realized that it wasn’t going to be a good day. Today was the day that I decided that I wanted to see who would win. ( ME or THE CAR DOOR) well lets just say it didn’t turn out to well. (here’s the whole story) Ok so I was biking and the diver of a van totally didn’t see me and opened his door and it was right when I was passing and my bike got caught on the door and then (BAM) I hit the road hard. After the police and the ambulance checked out everything I was told to take it easy and not to do to much running since I pretty much clasped on them. Well the result of the day is when bike meets car, car wins hands down.
Woensdag 26 januari – Dinsdag 1 februari 2011 Nothing really happened this week i went to school went home did the normal student life thing.
