First week in Holland

So i have survived my first week of my exchange here and holland. Everything here is so different but at the same time its same. I'm sorry if my spelling is off  because my spell check right know is telling me that everything is wrounge since it at the moment only know dutch words. So heres a small recap of my time. So i arrived here last sunday at 2 pm which is around 4 or 5 in the morning in Canada so i was really tired after my 9 and half hour plane ride.once i arrived i was greeted by my host Family and Eric's fanily. After tea at a cafe in the airport we went our seperate ways  my host family and i went home while Eric's family went to find some wild deer by the airport. Once at my new home in DeWeere i unpacked and hung out with my host family. In my host family i have a host sister age 10 and a host brother age 12 they are both very nice but i can not talk much to the young girl because she cant speak any English which make me sad cuz it frustrates her that we can talk that much. the rest of the week went by pretty fast i wake up at 10 hang out with my host brother then have luch with my host sister and then go shopping with my host mother in a close by town call Hoorn. One day my host sister brought me to here school and i felt like i was in a show and i was the main entertainment for everyone to see.  after her school was done we went to see her ride a horse down at this club for horse back riding, it was some much fun playi ng with all the horse. finally the end of the week came and i had to get ready to leave for Arnhem which is two hours away from Hoorn so we had to leave early for the language camp, on the away we stopped at this gas stattion and i have never met a lady that cleans washroom for a living be so nice. she fond out that i was from Canada and she was like "Welcome to my humble washroom i clean it just for you" and that was what she did. she was amazing i made she that i gave her little extra for all her work and a hug for just being her. was i made it to the language camp i learned that there are 23 exchange student here in the Netherlands and 4 of then are from Canada which is nice to be able to have a normal comversation  since i dont have to slow down my speach with them but its still amazing being able to talk with everyone. well i will update this again talk to everyone soon zie u spoedig

  1. Sounds like you're having a blast out there! After Japan, I'm sure you'll hop that language boundary with no issues, charades and all.
